Gingas Gård offers the opportunity for both young and old to spend time with animals. The focus is on a respectful and mindful approach to the animals and the experience around the animals in the beautiful nature of Sweden.

Shared parent-child time with ponies
- For children from 5 years old and a horse-interested parent
- The shared experience of parent and child with the pony is the focus of this offering
- Brushing and preparing the ponies for a walk or ride (weight limit: adults 65 kg) through nature.
- Conveying knowledge about horses
- Prior knowledge of horses is desirable, but can also be developed together
- Perfect for parents who want to dive back into the world of horses (re-entrants) and share their passion for horses with their child
Guided pony hike
An experience with the pony in nature
This offering focuses on the experience with the pony in nature, rather than primarily on riding. An ideal opportunity to give the child their first experiences with a pony while spending time in nature.
Schedule
The child first gets to know their riding pony by preparing it together for the ride. They learn how to move safely around the pony, how to brush and care for it. Afterward, they go out into nature with the pony for a walk, where the child is allowed to lead and ride the pony.

Fun and games with the pony
An experience with the pony on the farm
The focus of this offering is for the child to gain their first valuable experiences with a pony and learn the mindful and respectful handling of it from the ground up. The child can gradually approach riding through guided lessons on the riding arena and improve their coordination and balance on the pony. The joy of being with the pony and experiencing it with all the senses is at the heart of this offering.
This offering is also suitable for children and teenagers with disabilities and will always be tailored to their specific needs.
Schedule
During the preparation for riding, the child first gets to know the pony. They learn how to move safely around the pony and how to brush and care for it. The child has the opportunity to learn interesting facts about the pony or try out fun activities with the pony (e.g., braiding the mane, decorating the pony, solving puzzles with the pony, etc).
Afterward, the child gets to solve exciting tasks with the pony in the riding arena. The tasks promote the child's balance and coordination and provide the opportunity for the first relaxed interactions with the pony.

Shared parent-child time with ponies
Experience with the pony for mom & child or dad & child
This offering is aimed at adults who would like to dive into the world of horses together with their child. Perfect for adults with horse experience who, for example, want to slowly return to horses after a break and share their passion with their child.
This offering is always tailored to the individual needs of the parent and child. The focus of this offering is the shared experience around the ponies. It is not traditional riding lessons.
Schedule
Joint preparation and grooming of the ponies, where adapted knowledge about horses is shared with both the parent and the child. A walk or ride together with the ponies through nature.
Please note that due to the size of our ponies, we can only allow adults up to 65 kg to ride. Adult beginners will also be guided while riding. Riding should not be the focus of this shared parent-child time.

Things to know about pony riding at Gingas Gård
What concept is behind pony riding?
This is not traditional riding lessons! The focus of our offerings is on the experience with the pony and learning a mindful and respectful interaction with the pony. Everything related to the pony should be experienced with all senses.
How do I prepare for the pony adventure?
- If a suitable riding helmet is available, please bring it along. For young children, a well-fitting bicycle helmet can also be used. We have some helmets available for rent if needed.
- Please wear appropriate footwear around the ponies, preferably sturdy boots or hiking shoes. No open shoes (sandals, flip-flops).
- Since there are often many insects around the ponies, we recommend wearing long pants. This also helps prevent the child from getting chafing on their legs from the saddle.
- Bring clothing suitable for the weather, as well as sun or rain protection. The activities take place in all weather conditions, as long as there is no risk to horse or rider.
Riding is at your own risk!
- Riding takes place at your own risk. This means we assume that you and your children are personally responsible for your health and accident insurance.
- Horses are prey animals and therefore unpredictable. They can get scared, which could lead to an accident, such as falling off the horse. Please note that our ponies are not machines, and we cannot control them entirely. We know our animals well, and safety always comes first, but there is still a residual risk that we cannot control.
How should I behave on the farm?
- Please do not enter restricted areas or the ponies' pastures without the accompaniment and approval of the Gingas Gård team.
- Please do not feed the ponies! Not even with grass or carrots. Our ponies are very food-loving, and we adhere to a strict and carefully planned feeding regimen to keep them as healthy and fit as possible. If you'd like to reward the pony after the ride, it will surely appreciate some gentle strokes in the spots it loves to be scratched.
- Please always follow the instructions of the team when around the ponies. This ensures the safest and most enjoyable experience with the ponies.
My child doesn't want to get on the pony and is scared, will I get my money back?
- Since our offerings are not solely about riding, but also about teaching the handling of the ponies, we assume that a shared walk, as well as grooming and petting the animal, is worth the stated price.
- It’s not uncommon for a child to be afraid of a pony, considering its size. However, if a child shows great interest in the pony but is initially scared, we gently and step by step try to introduce the child to the pony. Everything is optional, nothing is a must.
