About us
"Enjoy life to the fullest." – From Switzerland to Sweden
When we met, we had three big things in common: We both loved animals, we wanted to live in another country someday, and we were both big nature fans who loved the wilderness and vastness. Our first date took place after the realization: "We should meet to plan our ranch in Canada." Our shared path didn’t lead us to Canada, but with all our belongings and animals, we moved from Switzerland to southern Sweden. They say that lovers of Canada are often fans of Sweden as well, and that was the case for us.
We are both people of action and share the desire to live life to the fullest. Therefore, the decision to emigrate, buy a farm in Sweden, and leave Switzerland behind was easy for us.
Angelika: The horse woman
„I see it as my passion to guide people on their individual journey.“
Since I was a girl, I had the dream of owning my own horse farm with lots of nature around it. Life took me on many detours, but ultimately led me to Sweden, where I was able to make this dream come true with my partner. In Switzerland, during my youth, I had the opportunity to help out on a therapeutic riding farm, which shaped my desire to become a social worker. After a detour in nursing, I ended up in the social work field and worked for over a decade in various areas of this profession. I rarely stayed long in one place, I appreciated variety, traveled a lot, and completed various additional training programs. Among other things, I trained as a horse trainer with M. Geitner, as a yoga instructor, and in horse-assisted coaching. I am happy to share my knowledge in all of these areas and see it as my passion to accompany people on their own unique path. As a horsewoman, I am always looking for a deep connection with the horse and believe it is important that children, from the very beginning, learn to handle these wonderful creatures with respect and mindfulness.
Tobias: The man for all occasions

I hadn’t had anything to do with horses until a few years ago, but animals in general have always interested, fascinated, and accompanied me throughout my life. A while ago, I even studied behavioral biology, though I focused more on monkeys than on pets. For the past few years, my dog Bedda has been accompanying me through life, and gradually, more animals have joined us. When I’m not driving a tractor on the farm, digging in the garden, or building hay racks, I’m busy programming on my pc. This, alongside nature and animals, is another passion of mine, and since emigrating to Sweden, I’ve also become self-employed in this field. Our animals
The animals are the reason we are here. The welfare of the animals is our top priority at Gingas Gård. Although they also work here and are put to work by us, we always strive to offer them the best possible life and to keep them as healthy as possible.
Aussie Cremlin
„The rock in the surf and herd leader“
Aussie was born in 2009 near Dublin, Ireland, and then spent several years pulling a tourist carriage through the streets of Dublin. The charming Tinker, who brings a smile to anyone with his snout, loves to explore everything with his lips, is the confident leader of the herd, and loves food above all else. He has belonged to Angelika since 2023 and accompanied her and Tobi from Switzerland to Sweden. Here, he seems to be enjoying life to the fullest.
Per
„Small but mighty!“
Shettland Pony-Welsh mix Per is a little tricky and knows exactly what he wants. Per loves activities and mental work. He enjoys working in the arena and likes long walks. With his clear and direct personality, Per is an excellent teacher. A pony that also makes adults happy without being ridden.
Lars
„The funny young fellow“
Shetland pony Lars was born in 2018, making him the youngest pony in the herd. He loves variety and is up for any fun. Lars is a treasure and safely accompanies even our youngest riders out into the countryside.
Bedda
„The wise old lady“
Beda, the Appenzeller mix dog, originally comes from Sicily and loves the sun. She is a sweetheart of a dog and friendly to every living being. She would do anything for a piece of cheese and happily strolls through the forests of Sweden. She seems to be enjoying the quieter life in Sweden and now gets to spend her later years in this beautiful environment, in her own garden.
Dina
„The Lively One“
Dina was born in 2022 and found her way to us through animal rescue from Romania. She has a tough history and seems to be thriving here in Sweden. She loves to sit in the garden, watching everything, and chasing and barking at anything that moves behind the fence. The little Chihuahua mix is incredibly playful but doesn’t like to be touched by strangers.
Tomte
„The Yard Keeper“
Tomte showed up on our farm on December 23rd during our first Christmas in Sweden and stayed. He ensures that the mice in the barn don’t get out of hand and keeps the dogs on their toes. Tomte is very communicative and cuddly. The perfect farm cat who loves attention.

The flock of chickens at Gingas Gård not only provide us with wonderful eggs, but also put a smile on our faces every day. Each chicken has its own Per personality and character.
Why is our farm actually called Gingas Gård?
When Angelika was in Sweden for the first time in the winter of 2018 she stayed at Ranch52, just a few kilometres from Gingas Gård, to lend a hand and look after the horses, the name „Ginga“ came about.
The owner's son Ranch52 was just two years old at the time and couldn’t pronounce the name „Angelika“ yet. So, without further ado, he turned „Angelika“ into „Ginga“. That short, easy-to-pronounce name stuck with us throughout the winter in Sweden, and Angelika remembered it when, in early 2024, we were looking for a name for our own farm. So it seemed only natural to name our farm „Gingas Gård“ – which translates as „Gingas Farm“ in German.

The animals are the reason we’re here. A farm without animals is like a house without a balcony – quite nice, but somehow a bit dull. The greatest priority at Gingas Gård is the wellbeing of our animal residents. Although they also work here and are put to work by us, we always strive to offer them the best possible life and to keep them as healthy as possible.
Our Values – What We Believe
Gingas Gård was founded with the original motivation to create a place of encounter – a place where humans and animals can meet in a peaceful and respectful way. Gingas Gård is meant to be a space where you can be yourself and people can meet each other on equal terms. We want to create a space for growth, where learning and laughter are encouraged. We trust that mistakes are part of life and that perspectives can change. We are open to ideas, suggestions, and criticism, and we believe that conflicts and crises are not something to hide from.
Our Animals – What They Mean To Us
It is important to us to keep our animals as species-appropriate and natural as possible. This means that we feed and care for them accordingly, and provide them with enough movement and activity. Our interaction with our animals should take place on an authentic, clear, and collaborative level.
Nature and Cultivation – Valuable Goods
We believe that the type of food we consume matters. The food we grow and produce at Gingas Gård is grown without the use of chemical fertilisers or pesticides. It is important to us that, where possible, we source products that we do not grow or produce ourselves directly from local producers at a fair price.
